Fashion always spoke loudly to Sarina and design was definitely the path she was destined to take. From sketching fashion to stitching fabric, she lived to create, eventually becoming increasingly intrigued by the sculptural and technical aspect of architecture and industrial design.
After graduating from an Industrial Design degree at The University of Technology, Sydney, Sarina moved to Milan where she worked designing products for clients including Mattel, Fischer Price, Olivetti, Telecom Italia, Alessi, and Swatch.
Then, craving a little more sparkle in her work, Sarina moved to London in 1998. Fusing her meticulous technical skills with her love of fashion, she produced her first range of jewellery and was quickly snapped up by cult jewellers Erickson Beamon, joining the team to design jewellery for the label and for the designer catwalk shows in Milan, Paris and London.
In 2001, Sarina returned to Australia, and launched her label SARINA SURIANO - "exquisite jewellery that makes women look great and feel fabulous".
She was invited to take part in the annual Australian Fashion Week - the only jewellery designer in the history of the event to be offered an individual show on schedule, and the first designer to showcase nothing but jewellery on the bare skin - "the way jewellery is meant to be worn", quotes Sarina.
Her designs were immediately snapped up by fashion stylists and bought by the most exclusive boutiques of the world, where her signature 'extra' long earrings, statement necklaces and ornate brooches glittering like a pirates treasure walked out the door.
Sarina Suriano has collaborated and designed collections for various well known Australian Fashion Houses accessorising their catwalk runways with her distinctive jewellery. She has also worked with internationally renowned companies such Paspaley Pearls, Swarovski, Nokia & Visa, L'Oreal and celebrities such as Beyonce and Destiny's Child.
Now based in London, Sarina is currently working as a freelance consultant and designer for several European based companies ranging from the UK High Street though to luxury brands.
